What if ordering your weekly groceries could do more than save you time? What if it could inspire young people, celebrate South African culture, strengthen friendships, and help build excitement for the biggest school celebration of the year?

Welcome to Dinner is on Me!—a unique eight-week campaign that brings together the convenience of Pick n Pay asap! + Smart Shopper, the creativity of our learners, and the spirit of community that makes South African schools so special.

Each week, one learner will be selected as our Dinner Champion. Their challenge is to plan, shop, cook, and host a proudly South African dinner for four friends.

With a R500 Pick n Pay asap! grocery voucher, the learner will create a shopping list, place their order through the Pick n Pay asap! app, receive their groceries via home delivery, and prepare a meal that reflects a different flavour or tradition of South Africa.

The campaign is about far more than cooking. It is about planning, teamwork, creativity, hospitality, and celebrating the friendships that are built at school.

Every week, the school community will follow the learner's journey:

• Meet the Learner – Get to know the week's Dinner Champion and discover why they were selected.
• The Menu – See the inspiration behind their proudly South African meal and the ingredients they've chosen.
• Shop Online – Watch them place their grocery order using the Pick n Pay asap! app and experience the convenience of online shopping.
• Delivery Day – Follow the groceries as they arrive at the learner's home, ready for the challenge.
• Dinner is Served – Watch the learner prepare the meal and welcome four friends around the table for an evening of great food, conversation, and laughter.

Every dinner tells a different story. One week might celebrate the tradition of a South African braai, while another showcases Cape Malay flavours, Durban-inspired favourites, classic boerekos, or vibrant street food from around the country. Together, the eight dinners will reflect the rich diversity of our Rainbow Nation.

Throughout the campaign, the school community can follow each episode online, vote for their favourite dinner, share messages of support, and take inspiration to host their own "Dinner is on Me!" evenings at home.

As each week passes, anticipation builds towards the campaign's grand finale—the SA BIG 5K Party Run.

At the event, the eight Dinner Champions will be recognised on stage as ambassadors of the campaign. Their stories will be celebrated, highlights from the eight-week journey will be shared, and the entire school community will come together for South Africa's biggest school party run.

Dinner is on Me! is more than a cooking challenge. It is a celebration of friendship, culture, and community. It demonstrates how the convenience of Pick n Pay asap! + Smart Shopper can bring people together while creating unforgettable memories.
